Hi all. I converted to Judaism through the United Hebrew Congregation in Johannesburg — a Reform congregation — about five years ago. I am an active community member, sit on the synagogue board and have visited Israel four times since my conversion. My rabbi has confirmed he will provide whatever documentation is needed.
I understand Reform conversions are accepted for aliyah but not for population registry registration. I am completely at peace with this — the le'om field is not important to me. What I want to confirm is whether my conversion will be accepted by the Jewish Agency without difficulty or whether I should expect additional scrutiny and a longer process.
