These rules apply to all members across all forums. Please read them before posting.

AliyahForum.com is an English-language forum. All posts must be in English. Posts in Hebrew or other languages will be redirected to English by the moderation team. We understand that some members are more comfortable in Hebrew — we appreciate this but ask that all community discussion remains in English so the entire community can participate.

Treat every member the way you would want to be treated on your hardest day of aliyah. Members posting here are often anxious, overwhelmed or in the middle of a stressful process. Responses that are dismissive, condescending or unkind will be removed. Repeated violations result in moderation action.

Disagreement is fine — AliyahForum.com is a community where different experiences and different opinions are welcome. Disagree with the information, not the person.

If you are sharing information — benefit amounts, process steps, document requirements — be as accurate as possible and note when you are unsure. Israeli government processes change regularly. Information that was correct a year ago may not be correct today. If you are sharing from personal experience, note when your aliyah was — "I went through this in 2023 and the process was X" is more useful than a statement that implies current universal accuracy.

If you spot inaccurate information in a pinned post or thread, flag it using the Report function or post a correction in the thread. The moderation team reviews all flagged content.

In the Aliyah Support & Recommendations section:

Professionals and service providers — aliyah consultants, lawyers, accountants, financial advisers, real estate agents, freight companies — are welcome to introduce themselves and describe their services, subject to the following:

  • Disclose your professional qualifications and licence details
  • Disclose any referral fees or commission arrangements
  • Answer at least one substantive community question before posting links to your website
  • Do not post the same promotional content repeatedly

Everywhere else:

Commercial promotion outside the Aliyah Support & Recommendations section is not permitted. This includes unsolicited promotion in replies to member questions, signature links to commercial services and posts that are primarily promotional rather than genuinely helpful.

Undisclosed commercial posts anywhere in the forum will be removed without notice. Repeated violations result in permanent removal.

Do not share other members' personal information without their consent. Do not post screenshots of private messages. Exercise care when sharing your own personal details — this is a public forum.

AliyahForum.com is a practical aliyah resource. Political discussions about Israeli politics, the conflict or broader geopolitical matters are off-topic and will be closed. There are many other forums for these discussions. This is not one of them.

Community members sharing their experiences is valuable. It is not professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional — doctor, lawyer, accountant, financial adviser — for advice specific to your situation. The forum moderation team may add a disclaimer to threads where advice is being treated as a substitute for professional consultation.

Posts that add no value — single word replies, content-free agreement posts, repeated posting of the same question across multiple forums — will be removed. If your post does not contribute something useful to the discussion, reconsider before posting.

AliyahForum.com is moderated by the team and community volunteers. Moderation decisions are final. If you believe a moderation decision was incorrect, contact the team through the forum's contact function — do not raise moderation disputes in public threads.

Use the Report function on any post that violates these rules. All reports are reviewed. False reporting — using the report function to harass other members — is itself a rule violation.
