Shalom everyone. Rachel here, 32, from Finchley, North London. Grew up in a traditional Jewish family — United Synagogue, King David primary school, Jewish secondary, the whole Anglo-Jewish package. I have been thinking about aliyah since my gap year in Israel at 18 and have finally run out of excuses not to do it.I work in digital marketing and have been told the Israeli tech sector is very accessible for people with my background. Planning to move to Tel Aviv in summer 2025. My Hebrew is reasonable from school and synagogue but conversational Israeli Hebrew is a different matter entirely — starting ulpan research now.Biggest anxiety: building a social life from scratch at 32. I have an incredible group of friends in London and the idea of starting again is genuinely daunting. Anyone who has made aliyah as a single woman in their early thirties and has advice — I am all ears.
