Shalom. David and Sara here from Baltimore, Maryland. We have been married for eight years and have three children — Yosef, 6, Rivka, 9 and Binyamin, 13. We are a Modern Orthodox family and have been planning aliyah since before we were married. We finally feel ready.
Applied through NBN two months ago. Documents took longer than expected — getting apostilles from the Maryland Secretary of State while simultaneously managing three children and full-time jobs is a logistical challenge we did not fully anticipate. File is now complete and we are waiting for our interview.
Targeting Jerusalem — Baka or Arnona area — based on the community feel and the school options for religious families. David is a physician and has begun researching the Israeli medical licence recognition process which looks like a two-year commitment. Sara is a speech therapist and is researching her recognition pathway.
Looking forward to connecting with other families in Jerusalem and hearing from anyone who has navigated the medical or speech therapy recognition processes.
